CNS) Posted Thursday December 23, 2010 - 2:54pm"High School Musical" star Vanessa Hudgens should be paid an additional $9,300 in attorneys' fees and associated costs by a music producer who claimed he discovered her, a judge ruled today.

The award from Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Malcolm Mackey is in addition to $29,500 in fees she was previously awarded in her case against Johnny Vieira. Neither he nor Hudgens were in court for today's hearing.

Hudgens' lawyer, Christopher F. Wong, said the original award involved legal costs to the starlet from the time of the filing of the lawsuit in July 2009 until June, when a motion for judgment in her favor was filed.

Today's award reflected fees incurred from the filing of that motion until the present, he said.

Vieira previously turned over photographs of Hudgens that were at the heart of the legal dispute, Wong said.

"She got everything she wanted out of the lawsuit," Wong said.

The legal disputes between Hudgens and her former mentor began in August 2008 when he sued her, alleging she breached a contract between them and owed him $5 million for helping start her career.

Vieira maintained he was the one who saw something special in Hudgens when he heard her sing at age 16 with a girls' group.

He claimed the agreement called for him to equally share in advances, royalties and merchandising from Hudgens' career before she was cast in "High School Musical," but that she later turned her back on him. The two settled the first case last year.

Hudgens filed her own lawsuit in July 2009, alleging Vieira breached the terms of the settlement by engaging in "false advertising" and making "misrepresentations to the public concerning an alleged ongoing business relationship" with her.

Vieira refused to turn over photographs of the 22-year-old actress until after she sued him, according to Wong's court papers.

"It is essential for Hudgens to protect her interests in her name and image and she did not want her former producer, with whom she engaged in prior litigation, to be able to use or misuse photographs that belonged to her," Wong's court papers stated
